Terms of use

Version 1 · 25 October 2026. By creating an account or using FikaMeet, you agree to these terms. How a booking works step by step is explained on How it works; how we handle personal data is in the privacy policy.

1. Who we are

FikaMeet is a personal, non-commercial project. It’s free to use and makes no money. Contact: support@fikameet.com.

2. What FikaMeet is, and what it isn't

FikaMeet helps individuals find each other and arrange one-on-one online meetings and community events. We provide the profiles, the booking requests, the chat and the meeting link. That is all we do.

  • We are not a party to any meeting, to the advice given in it, or to any payment between members. The agreement for a meeting is made directly between the member who books and the professional.
  • We charge no fee and receive no money from bookings or events.
  • Professionals are not our employees, agents or partners, and we don’t check or guarantee their advice, qualifications or results.

3. Who can use FikaMeet

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You sign in with your own LinkedIn account and keep your profile truthful and up to date.
  • One person, one account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

4. If you offer meetings as a professional

  • You decide your price, length and availability. The price shown when someone books is the amount they owe you for that meeting, in the currency shown.
  • You are responsible for your advice and for any licence, insurance or professional rules that apply to it.
  • Professionals offer meetings as private individuals unless they say otherwise. If you offer meetings as a business, say so clearly in your profile, because members then have consumer rights (such as a right to cancel) that you must honour.
  • You are responsible for your own taxes and VAT, and for using MobilePay or Vipps in line with their terms (which may require a business account for regular paid services).
  • Where the law requires platforms to report what professionals earn to the tax authorities, we may ask you for the details needed and pass them on.

5. Bookings and payment

A booking is a request from one member to a professional, who accepts or declines it. Either side can cancel before the meeting starts. For a paid meeting, the member pays the professional directly with MobilePay or Vipps after confirming, at meeting time, that the professional is there. The steps and time limits are on How it works.

Because the money never passes through FikaMeet, we cannot take, hold, refund, reverse or guarantee any payment. Questions about a payment are for the two members to settle.

6. Online meetings

Meetings take place on an outside video service, currently Jitsi Meet, run by 8x8, Inc. Its own terms and privacy policy apply when you join a call. The person who opens a meeting room may be asked to sign in there with a Google, GitHub or Facebook account. We don’t operate the video service and can’t promise it will always work.

  • If the call can’t be connected, don’t confirm the meeting took place. Nothing is owed, and you can agree a new time in the chat or cancel.
  • Don’t record a meeting without the other person’s clear consent.
  • Don’t share a meeting link with anyone outside the booking.

7. Community events

Events are run by their organisers, and any payment for an event goes directly to the organiser. Payments for paid events are not refunded, unless the event itself is cancelled. FikaMeet doesn’t hold the money and doesn’t give refunds.

8. Reviews and how profiles are ordered

Only the two people in a completed meeting can review each other, once each, so every review comes from a real booking. Reviews must be honest and about the meeting. On Browse, professionals are ordered by average rating and then number of reviews, unless you choose another sort.

9. Rules for everyone

  • Be honest: don’t lie about a meeting or a payment, or about who you are, your experience or your qualifications.
  • No harassment, spam or illegal content in profiles, chats, events or reviews.
  • Use FikaMeet only to connect for meetings and events: no advertising or promoting other products or services.

10. Reports, moderation and disagreements

You can report a profile, message, review or event that breaks these rules or the law by writing to support@fikameet.com. We look at every report and may remove content or suspend an account. If we do, we tell the person concerned why, and they can ask us to look again.

Any disagreement about a meeting, the advice given or a payment is between the two members, and they settle it between themselves. FikaMeet isn’t a party to it, doesn’t decide who is right and can’t move money. We share our records of a booking only where the law requires it.

11. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post: profile text, photos, messages and reviews. You allow us to store and show it on FikaMeet for as long as it’s needed to run the service.

12. Liability

FikaMeet is free and provided as it is. We work to keep it running, secure and correct, but can’t promise it will always be available or error-free.

We are not responsible for what happens in a meeting or between members, including the advice given, decisions made on it, or a payment made, missed or disputed. Because FikaMeet is free, we are not liable for any other loss from using it either. This applies as far as the law allows.

13. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, after telling the person why, except where the law or safety requires us to act straight away.

14. Changes to these terms

We’ll tell you about important changes at least 15 days before they take effect, by email or a notice on FikaMeet. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account before then.
